Marvel’s Iron Fist season 2 will begin streaming on September 7th
2018-07-20T02:36:31Z - Andrew Liptak / The Verge
Today at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel announced that Iron Fist would return to Netflix for its second season on September 7th, and the news was accompanied by a short teaser showing Danny Rand (Finn Jones) fighting on the streets of New York City. The teaser hints that Danny and the city will face some sort of larger conflict, and he sees it as his duty to protect his new home. The show comes shortly after the larger Netflix team-up show, The Defenders, and follows the sophomore seasons for Netflix’s other Marvel shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. But while Iron Fist was one of the most-watched shows from Marvel TV, it wasn’t well received by critics, who pointed to its boring action scenes and editing, nonsensical characterization, and its tone-deaf approach to race. Hopefully, Marvel will have taken some of that criticism to heart and used it to improve the show — footage shown at the panel did leave some positive impressions.
